I understand some people are reading this so I will try to update more frequently. So far I've been trying to get an understanding of where I am, who my friends are, and what I'll be doing, so Ithought I should hold off until I got "settled in." But actually when I think about it life is one huge continuation of changes. So I guess I'll just report as I go!

I'm taking two university classes for credit: Inside History of the Spanish Language and Intro to Western Classics (a philosophy course in which we read a translation of Plato's New Republic). I'm also taking Basic Korean Conversation class MWF 9-11.
I teach 9 hrs of English through a camera at an elementary school about 15-20 minutes from the University of Ulsan, where I live. I teach 3 hrs at a time 3 days a week. This week will be my first to teach. The kids can see me and I can see them. I can also show them ppts, internet videos, cd rom stuff, and we even have the chromachy effect, which is what weathermen have behind them when they are on tv! It'll be a challenge for me as I would naturally prefer the normal setup and I'm not a technologically inclined person. But I'm up for it.

I posted some pics: Patbingsu is a traditional Korean dessert of shaved ice with fruit, ice cream, corn flakes, and red beans on top. You mix it all together with sweet milk stuff and it's delicious. In fact the day I went they were out of ice cream but it was still great. The bun and coffee are from PapaRoti, one of several bun places. It is so good.

I went hiking with some Vietnamese friends on a mountain near our dorm. They were so kind to invite me and then we went to Samsundong (old downtown, probably spelled wrong) after for pho noodles. The view of Ulsan from the mountain is from when we went hiking.
The mountains are the view from my school, which is on the fringe of Ulsan. The brick building is the school itself.

I have been to the English service for church twice now and that is great to have available.
